Campari Soda
Speakeasy Invitations
Print Design
Description
Project designed for my MFA Graduate Studio class, the goal was to create 50 original poster iterations solely using elements from a pre-existing poster of our choice.
Rationale
My designs are based on a poster created by Franz Marangolo for Campari in the 1960s. Ever since studying abroad in Milan, I’ve been in love with everything Italian, so when given the chance I naturally gravitated towards a staple of Italian aperitivo culture and a prime example of corporate branding, Campari.
I decided to turn my posters into a speakeasy invitation, which merges both the aperitivo culture and the underground speakeasy movement going on in the United States between the 1920s-1930s.
